Marriage & Family

Marriage between one man and one woman, intended for life, ordered to love and to the generation and education of children, is the foundation of human society. The family is the first church, the first school, the first hospital, the first economy, and the place where children are taught and formed in faith and true virtue.

As the family goes, so goes the nation, and so goes the whole world in which we live.
Saint John Paul II

No institution can replace what is given and received within a healthy family — the experience of being loved into existence, taught to speak, taught to forgive, taught to give oneself away. When the family is weakened, the burdens fall upon the whole of society.

What This Asks of Us

We must commit to helping influence public policy through a vibrant cultural witness that strengthens marriage, supports parents in their primary educational role, and honors the irreplaceable bond between children and their mother and father.
