Marriage between a man and a woman, ordered to love and to the generation and education of children, is the foundational covenant of human society. The family that flows from it is the first school of every virtue.
As the family goes, so goes the nation, and so goes the whole world in which we live.
No institution can replace what is given and received within a healthy family — the experience of being loved into existence, taught to speak, taught to forgive, taught to give oneself away. When the family is weakened, the burdens fall upon the whole of society.
What This Asks of Us
We commit to public policy and cultural witness that strengthens marriage, supports parents in their primary educational role, and honors the irreplaceable bond between children and their mother and father.
